From a neighboring area, we stopped by Main Street thinking we could grab a dog+kid friendly meal, not realizing there was an un-dog friendly art festival going on. One of the officers on duty came up and kindly let us know that dogs were not allowed. He was not only incredibly nice and apologetic about the rule but engaging to both our new puppy and my 5 and 3 year old (despite being atttacked by a beanie baby witch by my 3 yr old the entire time). Even though we were hungry and disappointed that we couldn't stay to eat, it was hard to leave in a bad mood given the interaction we all had with the officer. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name but we are very grateful and will be back to visit soon!

I was concerned about a friend who lives in Hendersonville when I couldn't reach them after repeated attempts, at a time when I should have been able to. I requested a welfare check by the Hendersonville police department. They went to the house immediately and roused my friend, who was indeed ill but not seriously. All worked out happily. Many thanks to the police department who checked on my friend so promptly. We both very much appreciate it.
