As a retail store manager myself, I feel bad for the example he is showing his team members and the lack of training and consideration he is showing them for the customers of his store. The customer in front you trying to spend money IS ALWAYS more important than anything else you've got going on unless your building is literally on fire.
The manager ignored the fact that I had walked up and placed the items I wanted to purchase on the counter as he didn't even remove his sunglasses or speak at all to me. After some time he finally reached up, scanned my items, and told me my total. I paid and he then handed me my receipt. He never said a single word to me, looked up at me, removed his sunglasses, or made any attempt to make sure I had found everything I needed. I walked away and then asked him if he was the store manager and he said that yes he was so I then asked his name and he told me it was Dave. I then explained to him what a poor example of customer service he was showing me and the poor example he was showing his new team member. He didn't seem to care so I quickly asked for my money back.
I will no longer frequent this location due to his example.
I was in this store the other day as I frequently buy new shoes from here. I spent some time walking around looking at everything to see if I found anything that I couldn't live without. After some time I had everything that I wanted so I made my way to the checkout counter to make my purchase. As I approached the counter I saw a man with a brand new team member staring her very first shift as the man appeared to be a manager trying to get her logged into the system with her paperwork for her first shift.
